Quality
Comics briefly ran a strip in their title FEATURE COMICS that
starred; USA the Spirit of Old Glory. Essentially she was their
variation of Timely’s “Miss America” and Holyoke’s “Miss
Victory”, a star spangled superwoman. With her torch talisman she
appears to have super-strength and the ability to fly. While she’s
not invulnerable, her American Flag cape is bulletproof and she uses
it to ward off gunfire.

I
find it interesting that she doesn’t seem to possess a civilian
identity. It leads me to wonder whether her friends call her YouEssAy
or Ossah ?
